Facebook Login: Signing Up for the Platform
There are 2 ways to sign up for Facebook:
- via web / PC
- via phone / smartphone / iPhone
Signing up via web / PC
Before getting to the Facebook login (direct access) we need to quickly go through the sign-up phase, otherwise we won’t be able to browse the platform and interact with friends and family.
To create a Facebook account, just follow a few simple steps. Go to the Facebook page (here), fill in the form you’re presented with and, once you’re done, click on “Create account”.
There are only a few required fields to complete the registration, and after that you’ll have no more trouble performing a Facebook login.
The details to fill in are your first name, last name, mobile number and email address. On top of these, you’ll need to enter your date of birth and gender, and choose a password you can use to log in to the famous blue social network whenever you want, from any place and any device.
The last thing to do is verify your account, and then you’ll be ready to proceed with your Facebook login. You may be asked to enter a verification code sent via SMS or email, depending on what you provided when you signed up.
Signing up via phone / smartphone / iPhone
If you’re looking into how to log in to Facebook and you’re still at the sign-up stage, don’t worry. You can also do it directly from your smartphone, whether you’re running Android or iOS.
Simply install the app on your smartphone (from the Play Store for Android — here — and the App Store for iOS — here) and just launch it to start the process.
Here too, just like on the web, you need to follow the steps shown and fill in the fields indicated to complete the registration. So follow the same steps we outlined in the previous paragraph.

Facebook: Logging In to the Platform
Now that you’ve completed the sign-up phase, let’s look in detail at how to log in to Facebook.

Logging in to Facebook from the web? Then all you need is a browser (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer,…) to get online and go to the Facebook website (here)
Once you’re on the Facebook site, you’ll see the same screen you saw when you registered. Instead of filling in all the fields again, you only need to enter your email or phone number — depending on what you entered when you signed up — and the password you set.
Once you click “Log in”, you’ll complete the direct Facebook login with no further steps and you can start browsing the platform.
It might happen that you no longer remember your credentials and therefore can’t log in to Facebook. No need to panic — it happens to a huge number of people. By clicking on “Can’t remember how to log in to your account?” you can start the process to recover your credentials and get back to browsing the famous blue social platform.

Logging in to Facebook from your smartphone? No problem — here too, just open the app you downloaded earlier and enter your username and password.
If you don’t remember, or have doubts about, how to download Facebook on your phone, refresh your memory with our dedicated lesson: Facebook App.
Back to us. Even when logging in from the app, to complete a direct Facebook login, all you have to do is enter your credentials. Click “Log in” and you can browse away from your smartphone.

How to Access Facebook in Non-Traditional Ways
We’ve covered the steps for anyone trying to get into Facebook. There are, however, some particular situations where the site seems to be unreachable. Let’s see what to do in these cases.
There are times when the platform seems inaccessible for technical reasons. Leaving aside the extreme cases where the platform is down and there’s nothing we ordinary users can do, there are situations where trying to access Facebook through alternative URLs is doable.
Try getting in via m.facebook.com or beta.facebook.com, which are, respectively, the mobile version of Facebook and the experimental version.
There are other possible situations.
Can’t access Facebook from your school or the company you work for? Some institutions and companies deliberately choose to block access to avoid distractions for people at school or in the office. If the institution you work for has decided to block your “fun and leisure”, you can try to log in to Facebook through a web proxy.
And don’t forget that you can also log in to Facebook even if you previously deleted or deactivated your account. Remember the lesson that covered exactly this? Refresh your memory with the dedicated lesson: How to delete your Facebook account.
